Triples League Guidelines

In general, the guidance provided for the Summer League also applies to the Triples League. Significant differences are:

  1. The Triples League is not a Sunday league and therefore teams are expected to arrange midweek, evening fixtures where possible.
  2. Scheduled dates for league fixtures are for guidance only and the 'six week rule' does not apply.
  3. A Triples League or Cup match consists of two triples games, usually played one after the other.
  4. The final score for a league match can only be 1-1 or 2-0. The match winners will be awarded 3 league points, whilst a draw will give each team 1 league point with a bonus point to the team who scores most points overall in the two games.
  5. Any Cup fixture ending in a 1-1 draw should be decided on the result of a third triples game.
  6. A team can field up to 6 players in one match.
  7. A team can use no more 5 different players throughout the season.

Scorecard

Please use the scorecard provided, and email this to results@suffolkcoastalpetanque.co.uk. Home team to provide the scorecard, winning team is responsible for sending, in the event of a draw the Home team is to send it.

Refreshments

There is no requirement or expectation for the home team to provide refreshments, however when the venue for a fixture is an establishment that sells food and drink, the away team (and any supporters) should not abuse the hospitality of their hosts and should respect any house rules on the consumption of food and drink not purchased at the venue.
